It’s Just a Phase

Remember when you were younger and the adults always said, “It’s just a phase”? Well, seems like there is some truth but it just took me a bit longer to get through it.

Does this mean I am done with cars? Probably not but I will keep it in check unless I somehow hit the lotto.

Yes! An Update…

The update is, not much progress has been made with the Corolla. But what has been done you ask? The engine and transmission are now in… yeah, that’s about it.

I test fitted the turbo adapter and found out you can’t just take take three pieces of tubing and weld them together and expect it to fit – that’d be too easy right, Bryce? Anyways, the turbo is hitting the engine mount and the outlet to the hot-pipe is too tight of a fit. Need to move it out to the position you see in the picture for clearance and that means getting out the grinder. Continue reading

Torque it Right

Tonight I went and borrowed Kevin’s engine lift – again! The original plan was to just lift it up so I could swap engine mounts but decided to remove the whole thing a do a few other things I have been putting off. It was also going to be easier for me to do with the engine out.

This is how I torqued the flywheel bolts. It is always a challenge but at least it’s not the big nut like an eccentric shaft. Actually I learned this from having to deal with that big nut on the eccentric shaft. Know what I’m talking about? Continue reading

Photoshoot

My friend Maggie snapped some pics for her photography class. She is putting together a book about car culture and stopped by.

I took a picture of her taking a picture of my upstairs “loft” space with her DSLR. Makes me feel like I need to get one. The picture she took consists of two front bumpers, four Work wheels in three boxes, four tires, Buddy Club seat and Bride Ergo II seat. Continue reading
