QWERTY vs T9 vs Touch Screen

Ahhhhh!!! I would like to get a new phone. I don’t know why but I sort of want to get back to a qwerty style or smart phone. Am I that important and busy – not really. I really do like the small size and light-weight phone I currently have. T9 is very convenient as well…

But, all these new phones that are out and will be out soon… wow!

Engrish Couture

What is Engrish? It is the poor translation of ones native speaking language into English which is usually inaccurate and leads to a good laugh… most of the time.

What is Engrish Couture – people intentionally using Engrish to sound more authentic to another country – mostly Japan. It is getting old and conveys that there is a lack of creativity to come up with something that actually makes sense. Just like adding “Couture” to the end of everything.

The above photo is of a sweatshirt I bought in Japan and look, the English is actually pretty good.

Return of the 86

Finally! The Corolla is back in the garage. After being lifeless for almost two years, the car is going to get a make-over.

Pictured above is the unique storage facility that uses old shipping containers. Works well but be careful of what you store there. Full protection from the environment – not really – but, it is affordable. Continue reading

The Art Institute of Chicago

Yesterday I headed into the city and spent some time at the Art Institute of Chicago and Buckingham Fountain.

Both locations were free! Please check ahead if you are trying to go when there is no admission.

The Institute was impressive with its variety of collections ranging from Greek to Asian to American and its very impressive African; classical, contemporary and modern. Unfortunately, areas housing the impressionists were under renovation.

I wish my desk looked that clean. It’s amazing how this desk design is copied in some form still today.

I Hate Socks

I am sitting at my desk annoyed by the socks I am wearing. They have the seam near the toes and the seams are always huge and irritating.

Do people that make these socks where them? I don’t think so as they are probably made somewhere warmer where socks are optional!

Made In…

Is it dissapointing when you find out something was not made where you thought it was? Image is important as is quality and resonability in price.

But, when an image is conveyed to make something appear that it is a product of a certain location but in reality the product is not produced there… does one feel duped?

Certain parts of the world are known for producing goods at a certain quality level. Today however, rarely are the locations of the offices the same as the location of the manufacturing facilities.

So, always research where a product is actually produced… it may not match what you’re told, what is on the box, or what is even stamped on the part.
