Happy Halloween

Since it is Halloween and we are currently being bombarded with politics, I thought I could put the two together.

Just based on the themes of their campaigns, I put together this cartoon.

To clarify McCain… I tried to make him look like “Maverick” from Top Gun, versus him in his Vietnam era flight suit.

Happy Halloween!

P.S. I don’t have a tablet or scanner so I drew that out using a mouse in Flash and then brought into Illustrator to save the vector properties and then brought into Photoshop to color.

Gravatar Enabled

I have set up the comments to display your gravatar. What is a gravatar? It is an avatar that is housed in a central location and is tied to your email address.

So, when you post a comment and enter in an email address that has an associated Gravatar, your avatar will be displayed.

If you don’t have a gravatar, go get one at www.gravatar.com. Also, when you go to other blogs that have gravatars enabled, your avatar will show up there.

TIP: When you crop your image – if you want to use the full image, then crop the entire thing but be careful as the crop tool may cover the upload button. So, when you click the button, you are actually resenting the crop tool and the crop properties will become null and you will get a lovely black square as your avatar. So, if you crop to display the entire image, click near the very bottom of the upload button, or use the one on top. I think there is one there as well.

PS – Gravatar.com seems to be stuck in an endless loop.

Neato.

Freezing

It’s that time of year. Time to bring out the heavy jackets, gloves and head wear.

Woke up yesterday to this lovely site. The water that collected by the gutter run off was frozen. Next thing you know we’ll be knee high in snow. At least this year the Northeast got it a bit a sooner.

Leafcicle anyone?

But the forecast calls for 60′s over the week-end. That is warm for this time of year.

AE86 Project – Part 4(d)

While you have the axles out, it’s a great time to replace the side seals. Use a seal puller and take out the old seals. This may take some coaxing as you will probably break the spring and rubber seal parts. With that said, this is one of those things where there is no turning back.

After you have the old seals removed, clean up the inside area where the seal and wheel bearings reside.

With the axle area cleaned up, time to install the new seal. Take some grease and lightly grease the outside to make it a bit easier to install. Next, take a socket or similar sized round thing to install the seal. Finding the right size socket may be difficult and expensive.

Rogansan ~

I found this at the local Korean mart. Is this something that Hawaiians really love? I know the Spam is, but what about the UCC Hawaii Kona Blend Coffee with Milk? Besides being a really long name, I think it may have some potential.

Why would it state that it has “not less than 10% Kona Coffee”? I had to read that several times.

Logan, I await your response.

Thanks.

AE86 Project – Part 4(c)

Let me start this post by stating that there will be no ‘easy’ way to install a supra rear end to your Corolla. There are ‘easier’ ways and I think I went down that path.

With the traction brackets, I drilled the bottom top-holes for the mounting point to 14mm. Unfortunately, you can not secure them with bolts alone as the top mount-holes to mount to the rear won’t work.

New Design

I published a new design I just finished. Trying to keep away from the hey, that is a WordPress template and the whole blog ‘look’.

I use WordPress and just create my own themes and I find it pretty easy. This took me about six hours to design, optimize, code and deploy.

I’ll be making small updates periodically. Please review the FAQs prior to asking questions.

Thanks!
