I watched Shinobi – Heart Under Sword and thought it was alright. Not being familiar with the novel, anime or manga that the movie was based on I didn’t have any expectations.

The actress, Yukie Nakama seemed to have unnaturally big eyes until the end when they looked more… well, natural.
Sidenote: For those that have seen Kill Bill and recall the reference to Hattori Hanzo (played by Sonny Chiba) and his prized swords, he is mentioned in this movie as well. He is the second Hattori Hanzo and is recalled in many Japanese movies, video games, etc.
I went to the store to get some beverages for work and found that Pepsi Co. has changed most of their packaging.
Picked up a case of Mountain Dew and noticed their design is less “extreme” then before and seems to have a more technical and digital message. They did move away from the sort of flare/floral grungetribal/urban style but has some organic elements.

But the most suprising thing was the logo and it’s display in abbreviated text. Emphasis is on the Dew portion so I wonder if that is eventually just going to lead it to be called that down the road. Seems people call it that now for the most part anyways.
Even the slogan, “Do the Dew!” sort of hints to that.
If you can’t read the MTN as Mountain, don’t worry… it’s just a sign of your visual intelligence.
Saturday met up with some friends at Pho Viet and enjoyed stuffed my face with a BIG bowl of pho and tri-color. I’ve been craving.

The pho tai nam bo vien was alright, but got a bit salty at the end. The spring rolls and egg rolls were alright too. Nothing really to write home about.

What do you get when you have a lot of snow on the ground, then add rain and warmer than normal temperatures? Just another day in Chicago with a lot of fog.

So, we had a bunch of snow, then freezing rain and now fog. I feel bad for those flying out of O’Hare. At least tomorrow they say temps in the mid 50′s. Hey! That’s warm for here this time of year.
Got a delivery of male and female… connectors.

Molex plugs are great to make any sort of quick release wiring harness. I got an assorted set of two, three and four pin harnesses and a crimper specific for the open barrel design of the pins.
After doing some searching I found that I could buy similar plugs from Painless or individually and the cost would end up being about $7-$8 for a set. I purchased these items from Action Electronics for about $50 shipped including everything you see. Make sure you get the right amperage rated and gauge size harnesses and pins.
Only thing is they mishipped one item but for only $2.30, I can order some more.

Merry Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah from me, your favorite dootie maker. (Yes, I shopped it).

Yeah, it’s pretty cold out…
Logan asked me what I listen to when driving around. Besides watching DVD’s (don’t watch videos when you are driving! whatayastupid?) I’ll throw in a CD or some MP3s and thanks to Rob, I have some Hifana.
Hifana is a pair of turntabalists based in Tokyo and got their start after winning a DMC and releasing their first album in 2003. From my understanding, finding their CD’s is a challenge so thanks Rob. Hope you were able to find their other album.
